IDS Chair – John Baker, AM FRAeS MIEAust CPEng, NER, Group Captain (Ret’d)

John is a retired Senior Australian Air Force Officer, a Military Pilot, an Aeronautical Engineer, a four-time military commander, an aviation tradesman and a business CEO and Director. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1992 for services to military aircraft engineering and awarded the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators [GAPAN] Most Significant Individual Contribution to Australian Aviation in 1991.

John’s Order of Australia Citation highlights his very personable approach, his leadership and management skills, the encouragement he gives to his peers and his staff with these attributes always combined with his personal dedication to organisational growth. His organisation of International Conferences and commitment to and support of sports aviation in Australia were part of his GAPAN Citation.

John brings his leadership, organisational, and financial management skills to IDS. He intends to continue the established IDS focus on people with disabilities being able to live the life they desire.

John exercises every day and in his spare time likes to walk and ride his bicycle.

Tricia Malowney OAM

Throughout her life, Tricia has championed the rights of Australians with disabilities, guiding government, disability service providers and individuals.

As well as her Board work with IDS, Tricia is a Director at Scope and Women’s Health East and is a member of the Eastern Family Violence Partnership Executive Committee and the Royal Women’s Hospital Primary Care and Population Health Committee. Trisha is also an NDIS consultant for Outlook in Pakenham.

Tricia has a consultancy, focussing on presentations to ensure the full implementation of the NDIS, educating mainstream communities of their responsibilities under that National Disability Strategy and Victorian State Disability Plan.

Tricia was the Inaugural President of the Victorian Disability Services Board, Deputy Chair of the Victorian Disability Advisory Council, Inaugural Chair of the Disability Reference Group at the Royal Women’s Hospital and Inaugural Chair of Women with Disabilities Victoria. She has been a member of the Coroner’s Family Violence Death Review Reference Group and the State Wide Road Based Public Transport Advisory Committee and the Public Transport Access Committee.

Tricia was inducted into the Honour Roll of Victorian Women in March 2013 by Premier Denis Napthine and Minister Mary Wooldridge and received the Inaugural Brenda Gabe Leadership Award the same year. She was also a finalist in the Lesley Hall Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.

IDS Board Member – Geoff Schomburgk

Geoff is a strategy consultant and senior leader with over 25 years’ experience in the global information technology and telecommunications (ICT) industry.  With six years in corporate strategy for a large multinational, Geoff has extensive experience in business strategy development, executing transformation and change programs, business development, partnerships and governance of major infrastructure projects.

Geoff joined the IDS Board in 2015 and also a member of the Finance and Risk Committee.  Outside of IDS, Geoff has provided Board related advice and assistance to a range of corporate and not-for-profit organisations.  He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD), with B.E. (Hons) and M.B.A. and specific strategy qualifications.

IDS CEO: Jed Macartney, OAM

With regret, the Board of IDS has accepted the resignation of Jed Macartney, OAM on the 21st February 2019 allowing Jed to immediately accept another offer.

Since arriving at IDS, Jed has turned the viability of the Business around and with the assistance of all the staff, past and present, has made IDS the first point of contact for Disability Support Services.

We wish Jed and his family all the very best in his new pursuit.

The IDS Board has appointed a Temporary CEO whilst a replacement CEO is secured.

Operations Manager – Janelle Summers

Janelle works with our clients to develop plans that align with their individual needs and goals, assisting them towards a more independent life that encourages local community engagement. To be effective in her role she recognises the need to develop positive collaborative relationships with our clients and their support networks.

With over eleven years experience in the disability sector, working in Government (DHHS) and Support Agency roles, Janelle has the knowledge and networks to ensure our clients are offered services and support that reflects their needs and these are delivered as required. She is passionate about working with people with a disability, ensuring they are given the opportunities to live life to the full.

 

Client Relationship Officer – Susan Johnson

Susan joined the team at IDS in September 2018 as a Client Relationship Officer.

Susan brings 13 years of experience in employment, aged care, mental health and disability support. Susan’s career high points include the development and roll-out of a respite program for carers of people with mental health conditions. Susan also managed 30 staff across two sites, providing Disability Employment Services and Job Active contracts to over 700 clients for three years.

Susan has qualifications in Service Coordinator, Community Services and Mental health. She is passionate about improving the lives of the people she supports.

Client Relationship Officer – Maddie Brown

Maddie’s recent appointment completes our team of Client Relationship Officers. Having worked with Susan Johnson at Job Active and Disability Services Employment in Queensland, she came highly recommended.

Maddie has a history of leading by example, providing extraordinary customer service both internally and externally by taking a personal interest, developing relationships and creating a positive experience with the clients she supports.

Her experience in employment, customer services and training provide a diverse range of skills required to meet the requirements of the role including relationship development, mentoring, advocacy and client satisfaction.

Outside of work, Maddie likes to relax with regular visits to the movies, walking and travelling.

Finance Manager – Chris Beeston

Chris is responsible for maximising the return on financial assets, establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.

In addition, Chris oversees all financial aspects of the business including the management of the organisation’s financial strategy, finance functions, operations budgets, financial analyses forecasting and planning.

Outside of work, Chris is passionate about music and his beloved Geelong.

Client Administration Officer – Kathy Payne

Kathy’s responsibilities include client services, support and administration. Kathy joined IDS in a volunteering capacity in 2015 providing a range of administrative and office supports; she was offered a permanent role in 2016.

Before joining the team at IDS, Kathy was a dedicated and loyal team member with a long career history in the Finance and Banking Sector where she worked as a Portfolio Administrator for 14 years with a boutique Fund Manager. Kathy’s skills, values and experience align perfectly with her role and the values and direction of IDS. Kathy has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting).

Kathy’s is passionate about overcoming negativity, intolerance and the exploitation of others, promoting a more open and accepting society.

Accounts officer – Ellen Ou  

Ellen is a passionate, self-driven and versatile Accounts Officer who has experience in various industries including hospitality, medical and dental. She is responsible for payments, payroll, BAS, Month End Reconciliations etc. Ellen has a Master of Management (Accounting) from the University of Melbourne and is pursuing to become a professional CPA.

Outside of work, Ellen is enthusiastic about travelling, and board games.

Quality Advisor – Mark Gribben

Mark is responsible for ensuring IDS’ accreditation and compliance meets the standards required by DHHS, NDIS, TAC and WorkSafe, He also manages our policies, procedures and ensuring all staff are aware of their responsibilities. He has been employed in the disability sector for five years, having previously worked in the manufacturing sector. With a deaf brother, Mark understands how the abilities of many people with a disability are undervalued.

 

Marketing Manager – Ian Payne

Ian has extensive experience in developing and delivering marketing, branding and attitudinal change programs in government, the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. He believes that the reputation of IDS is dependent on the quality of service and support we offer our clients. It is essential that every member of the IDS team is aligned with the values of the organisation, sharing a commitment to proving a service that other disability providers find hard to match.

Ian has a proven track record in developing and increasing profitable sales growth for the businesses he represents, converting market opportunities through analysis, planning and implementation. He also has extensive change management experience – cultural and structural – in complex, challenging corporate business environments.
