Volunteer

More than 1.5 million Victorians volunteer their time, skills and experience. They make a considerable contribution to our local communities. At Independent Disability Services (IDS), we do our best to match our volunteers with activities that align with their skills and passion.

If you think you have a particular skill that would benefit our clients, we would love to meet with you to discuss volunteer opportunities.

Many great reasons to volunteer!

  • Volunteering is personally satisfying and a lot of fun, and you can be sure that your efforts will make a real difference

  • Develop new skills or sharing existing ones

  • Improve career opportunities and build up work experience

  • Experience new challenges

  • Help IDS ensure our clients have the support they require to enable them to live the life they want

  • Meet new and interesting like-minded people who share a common goal of helping others in the community

Who can volunteer?

We are always looking for caring and reliable people, no matter how much or how little time they can spare. Anyone over 18 years of age who is interested in supporting people with a disability can volunteer. No special skills or qualifications are necessary.

All volunteers must be prepared to have a Police Check and Working With Children Check before engagement.
