Client Update (22-05-20)

By May 22, 2020News

Thank you to all our clients, their families and carers for your continued engagement and input during this time. We have listened to your experiences with IDS and will maintain connecting with all of you through emails, phone calls and social media.

We are listening, and we are making changes

We would like to thank all our clients who provided feedback during our recent client survey. We listened to what you had to say, and we are working hard to improve on how we operate and how we can best support you based on your feedback.

Our relationships with you and your satisfaction with our service are paramount to IDS, and we encourage your input at any stage in your journey.

You can reach us through one of the following ways:

  1. Email feedback@idsa.org.au
Emails sent to this address are only seen by the Service Development Manager and CEO.

  2. Phone 03 9340 5100
    Speak to Annette or Binti

  3. Complete our Online Form
Visit www.idsa.org.au/feedback and complete our online Feedback/Complaints Form.

Further information about our feedback/complaints procedure can be found in our resource Your Guide To: Complaints Handling, accessible via www.idsa.org.au/resources.

Speaking of new website…

We hope you enjoy our new website design and can easily find what you need. If you run into any difficulties, want to provide feedback, or need help, email communications@idsa.org.au

We have new staff!

We have recently welcomed HR Manager, Annette Crawford, Social Media and Communications guru Victoria De Paoli and Quality Risk and Compliance Manager Debra Millist to our team.

With myself having transitioned into Renzo’s role as Acting CEO, we have enlisted Annette, Victoria and Deb to take on some of the tasks I was looking after.

Annette, Victoria and Debra bring with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise in their respective fields. We are excited to have them as part of the IDS team! They are currently working in a part-time capacity and can be reached via 03 9340 5100.

Sending thanks to IDS Volunteers

National Volunteers Week (18-24 May) is an annual celebration that acknowledges and celebrates the generous contributions of our nation’s volunteers.

We extend our heart-felt thanks to the IDS Board and our head office volunteers past and present for their invaluable contribution to our organisation.

For more information on how you can get involved in National Volunteer Week, please visit the Volunteering Australia website.

NDIS Updates – More flexibility with Core Funding

Check out this article from DSC regarding updates to core funding from the NDIS, including answers to some of the common questions you might have about what this added flexibility means for you: https://teamdsc.com.au/resources/core-flexibile-may-2020

iPads and Other Low Cost Assistive Technology

The NDIS have announced that Core funding can now be used to purchase low cost assistive technology, such as iPads. There are a lot of rules and guidelines around what you can buy, so please contact IDS if this is something you are interested in exploring. The NDIS rules and guidelines can be found in the below link, under ‘Low Cost Assistive Technology’: https://www.ndis.gov.au/coronavirus/participants-coronavirus-covid-19/using-your-budget

Questions or Further Information

We encourage you to call the office or send an email to support@idsa.org.au to discuss if there’s anything we can do to make your life better, more enjoyable or help in any way. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Wishing you good health and kind regards,

Binti Singh
Acting CEO
