Client Update (07-08-20)

By August 7, 2020News

To our valued clients, carers, and families, we are all going through some difficult times and need to adapt very quickly to the changing environment of COVID-19 stage 4 restrictions.

Key messages for you

  • Ongoing support to you is considered essential, and therefore, despite current restrictions, IDS continues to operate during Stage 4 restrictions.

  • IDS will therefore continue to provide ongoing support to you as requested and needed.

What we are doing

  • IDS closely monitor updates from the Government regarding COVID-Safe best practice and adapt our mode of work to reflect this.

  • We continue to monitor the health of our staff, ensuring adequate PPE is available for them. This includes mandatory wearing of face masks. If our staff member is not wearing a face mask during shifts, please advise us as soon as possible by phoning 9340 5100 or emailing support@idsa.org.au.

  • We have provided all staff with Permitted Worker Permits to ensure they can safely travel to and from your home when providing support.

If you would like to know more about current restrictions or our ability to respond, please contact us at any time. We continue to be available by phone 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri, and after hours via our on-call service.

Using NDIS Funds for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

You can now recover the costs to purchase PPE items such as face masks from your core support budget in your NDIS plan if you receive an average of at least one hour a day of face-to-face daily living supports.

If you are having any issues accessing items such as face masks, IDS can provide these to you free of charge. Please phone us on 9340 5100 or email support@idsa.org.au to let us know if you would like us to organise this for you.

Maximising Funds

We believe it is important that our clients continue to maximise funds in their plans as much as possible to ensure there is no risk to these funds being reduces in future plan reviews.

Regardless of whether that is through IDS or another service provider, it is important you look at the opportunities that still exist to receive ongoing support or other services throughout this lockdown period. Please contact us at any time to discuss what this means for you.

Questions or Further Information

If you need any further clarification or have any questions or concerns, please call the office on 9340 5100 or email at support@idsa.org.au.

Stay safe, stay healthy and we will be in touch with you again soon.
